Let’s set sail for La Tranche sur Mer.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Take the car to the La Tranche sur Mer pier, then climb aboard one of the boats that will take you to the magnificent Ile d’Aix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will take you to the south of the island. Let’s map out your day together ! You can do it all on foot. And if you prefer, consider renting a bike in advance on the mainland or on the island to get around more quickly. On this island, cars are forbidden, so it’s nice to be able to stroll around in complete serenity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can start by heading for the island’s lighthouse. A short 5-minute stroll will allow you to stretch your legs. Since 1840, this building has been guiding sailors. Over time, it has been improved and is now controlled remotely from La Rochelle. You can’t visit it, but you can take a look around. Enjoy the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and savor the incredible view. If you look carefully, you may catch a glimpse of the Oleronaise coast and the famous Fort Boyard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To finish off the morning, before lunch you can head to the beach at Anse de la Croix before it gets too hot. Enjoy the soft sand and clear water to invigorate yourself. You can enjoy a dip in the water, sunbathing or family games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
